MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi all. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did. Plenty of food and gifts. I had many gifts given to me yesterday and my most precious gift was given when Sandy's family came over and spent the day with us. We had over, my mother in-law, brother in-law, sister in-law and her husband. My family and in-laws enjoyed food and games all day. What a great day. Could a man ask for a  better Christmas? There is that word again: FAMILY. I love it!!! Hope your Christmas was just as great. And hope your New Years is also. Good night for now.

THANKSGIVING

To some people thanksgiving means parades , food , food and more food. But all you in blog world, to me it is more. Family ( we all know that family includes...  In-laws , cousins , aunts and uncles (zios and zias ) ), friends and God. For with out all three I have nothing to be thankful for, oh yeah and food lol lol lol. So as we all sit down to Thanksgiving dinner say a little prayer for all our family and friends.

I think Life is like a road trip (the road being our family) and the stops we make along the way ( the friends we make) may come or go depending on how much we put into it but the road will be there always. Not always in good shape but with a little work it can be smooth again. So I say to all my friends and family " I love you all". And as the say in China  "buon appetit".

What a day

This past week was one for the books. We lost a Person some called Wife some called mother some called grandmother and most called Friend. Yes that was Barb Nicolini. My brother and I went to Florida to be with our dad at this hellish time and it was not fun. What was nice was all the friends one gathers in there life. His Friends baked, cooked and were there for my dad with love.How sad this world would be with out Family and friends. I stop to try to remember what my life was before I met my wife Sandy and it was empty. Then what it was like with out my kids and it was the same empty. You collect friends along the way some go and some stay. I have a friend that is still there. He was there from mud pie making with real mud , rock throwing , Tree climbing to marriage Godfather to Jake and to talk to about things even today. Love you bud !!!!! So with out family and friends what do we have ??? I think we don't have much. So to my family and my many friends I say I love you all and to my DAD I say you are the best and I love you and hope if you ever need me again I will be there.

Well, It's here. All Hollow's Eve. We sit carving pumpkins, the wife cooking apple pie in the kitchen and, OK OK, no apple pie. But in my world there is. Ghost;s  floating  all around, witches flying and wolfmen howling at the moon. As The Count tells stories of his homeland, we all sit listening to tales of the night. Tomorrow, we all get to dress up and act like our darkest fears or funniest people, any thing or anyone we like. Who will you be?????? Come over to my world for some treats if you dare. Today Sandy and I talked. We laugh a little. We made some noise. We peeped , beeped and roared. Then I slammed the door and left. And she never got mad. She was pleased.She sat on the couch in the living room and I in the dining room. Her on her lap top and me on my desk top we chatted. Oh what a world . OH YAh IT WAS FUN !!!!!! Good night all.

when in Rome or wahoo chili

Well guys here it is. The wife and some girls got together for a girly party. You know, all girls tasting food with spoons no bigger then a 1/4 in.  open head wrench ( had to man it up a little ) and all acting like it was the most important thing in the world. If they don't like it, the world may END.   THEN men, they broke out the drinks. That's right- drinks with VODKA in it. That's why the little spoons; more room for big drinks. Well guys out there in blog land, I tried the food (not with little spoons) I tried them with big ones with graham crackers- oh yea and they were good. There was beer bread, key lime stuff, rice soup- oh man I'm in love. Men we messed up. Why didn't we think of this? Come on guys, chili and beer with hot dog dip? Or a belching party with all the drinks you can pass out to? All kidding aside, the food was great, the wife and girls had fun, and you know what guys that makes it all worth it. Family and friends having fun and good food to boot. Well guys, we need to jump on this band wagon. Good night all.

can't what for summer

Here it is September, where has summer gone? Someone told me one time that the older you get the faster time goes bye. I though to myself ya right 24 hours is 24 hours. Well dad you where right. For some reason God took 12 hours a day away from adults. He gave it to the kids. So in a little while we will be in the holiday mode saying I can't what for summer. It's to cold there's to much snow is everyone looking for the same x-miss gift as me. Well everyone out there this year take time and enjoy every day IT GOES FAST. Hi all from my sister Nancy's home. We will be here until Tuesday. Today we went to the casino and had fun. Jake and Ted went mini golfing and had fun fun fun. Tomorrow on to another adventure fun with family good night for now.

How Sweet it is

Friday my brother and sisters, along with our spouses my daughter a nice and a nephew went on a wine excursion. We traveled a great distance to a far off town named Lakeland.Yes Lakeland near Solvay my homeland.We tasted wine ate like kings if kings ate cheese, crackers, pepperoni, pretzel and pretzel chips. We laughed some almost broke out in song (and HE wasn't drinking). Then we as a family picked our best wine and we made it. Yes I said we made it. In 7 weeks we will go back and bottle it, label it and take it home. Our own wine and a fun time was had by all. So if any of you out in blog land ever get a chance to travel to that far off land of Lakeland it is a fun place not a big place not a fancy place a fun place. Once again 2 things came in play FUN and FAMILY.

SHESSSS BACK

Dawn came home this morning. She had a great trip. But she is glad to be home. She's a little tired being up for 24 hours straight. Not much more going on trying to finish my deck and working at the depot. Jake is going to be an alter server at our church and his first time will be this Sunday. He will do great God willing lol. Will blog more later.

Monday we took a trip to the zoo in Syracuse. Sandy, Jake and myself. It wasn't planed just woke up and said "hay let's go to the zoo. " What a great time we had.WE walked sat and enjoyed. So quiet peaceful. It is so different then the last time I went about 8 years ago.They have places to by drinks all over places to sit and enjoy the the animals. I say to all who reads this get up and get going try the zoo. Enjoy. good night.

July 4

July 4 has come and gone has out freedom. More and more of our workers in this good old U.S.A. are working for foreign  companies. Even the one I worked for N.P.G. or Chrysler. They sold us to a foreign company. I guess the only people who have fate in how great the workforce is in America is the foreign  companies.Well people I guess we need to rethink what we buy who we support. Let get AMERICA back. Lets hope the American business people get back to employing American people on American soil.As we should all say "God Bless America " and as I say thank God for American cars!!!!!!!!!!!! What's up

Yes Dawn is enjoying her trip to Alaska. She has pictures that are out of this world. Found out today I have the gout and it hurts like he#@ I guess I am getting old. You who know what I am talking about can call me zio Harlan. Went to see Mark and Cindy's new home over the weekend it is great. To you two your living large now enjoy. To my cousin Janice who is now reading my blog I say  HI. Hope you keep reading. That is all I have to say for now. Yesterday Dawn left up. Yes she is way up north. She called to say she got there at 1:15 our time 9:15 there time. After a few bumps she had a good trip. Now she will snap a few pics.and a few vids. and a lot of fun. To Dawn if you read this love you. Have fun.

Oh what I have seen

Let's all take time to think about it. What have you seen new in your life. Or lets say in the past 25 years. Home Computers or Cell phones. Well what elese. I have just come back from my uncle's 95'th birthday. Can you imagine what he has seen in his time on this marble we call earth.The things he has done. Only if we all can be as lucky. He has 5 kids who have kids who also have kids yes 4 generations of family. Well here is a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY on your 95 years  to my Uncle. We all love you zio. weight time

We weighed in wed. Well we lost which is good. Down 1 pound in one week. Family is doing great and so is the new pup. Looks like she might be close to being house broken. So looks like she might be a keeper. So that's about all for now. Till next time

What a day

Morning to all on this great day after fathers day. I hope all your days out there was as great as mine. It started with getting up at 6:15 to walk Lucy. Then Sandy woke and started her day working around the house not letting me do a thing. The kids woke 1 at a time all remembering that it was fathers day.Tony had to work so off he went. Call my dad to wish him a happy fathers day and talked for a while. My mother-in-law came over and so did my brother-in-law Rick. We had dinner and enjoyed the day talking and being with each other. I talked to my sister in PA. to make dates to go visit over the summer. The in-laws left and Sandy and I enjoyed the night we had left. May sound like not much BUT it was a GREAT FATHERS DAY. Like I said before in a blog it was with FAMILY. There is no greater gift in life then to be with family. (And no Sandy I will not give your gifts back. ) Well I here I go to start another day in my life. I hope yours  will be as great as I know mine will. Just remember one thing " Any day above ground IS A GOOD DAY." Author of that is unknown but I love that saying.

It's a little word. Well maybe not little, like it or at, but well, maybe it's a huge word. FAMILY. Think about it. Sandy, Dawn, Jake and I went to a birthday party for a niece. Both sides were there. That is, Sandy's side and our nieces other side. It was great. Two or three generations were there.Talking, playing, eating and drinking. The day was great, weather wise and family wise too. Think about it, we are all family, we can all talk to each other, play and laugh . What a world it would be. We did not pick, fight or mock. We had a great time. Well, it was for Tracy's and Kari's birthday so here is a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you two. And may God bless His whole family. Good night.

Wednesday Sandy and I go to Weight Watchers. Once a week I hope to report on it. If anyone is loosing weight and wants to shear there progress, recipes, tips, tricks or hopes we can share. 

Hi Hotties

That is every one who did not move to Alaska after these 90 degree days. There is only 1 thing hotter and that is my wife. Tried to work outside but just to hot for us retired people. So I mowed the lawn a little, sat inside a lot then mowed a little more. Shopped with Sandy, made dinner and mowed some more. Great day off. Lucy is doing great. No surprises in the house a big step. Working a long day today 1:00 to 5:00 love that day. So if we all can survive another hot day great. If not remember 4 more mounts and cold weather again then we all know what WHITE STUFF .

The Job is getting to me a little .I really like it but some people are strange no matter what you do there is no pleasing them and I don't mean costumers ether. I GOT IT , I GOT IT

Well after a long time of begging, Sandy finally let me have it. I begged , I whimpered and almost cried until she gave in. She was going to give it to me for Fathers Day but I got it earlier then that. Maybe it was to shut me up but, I don't care. Like I say in the title, I GOT IT, I GOT IT! So I don't care and it was a girl. Don't know her name so we'll call her, Her. She is a 3 month old sheltie pup . Pictures to follow tomorrow. So that is what I did today. Good night all.

I'm a chick

Hi all I'm back. Had a long day at the depot today and came home and ate dinner. After dinner we ( that is Sandy, Dawn & I ) sat down and watched a movie. I rented P.S. I Love You for Sandy and Dawn, but I also watched it. Well guys, I must admit, it was good. Ya I must be a chick because after all it is a chick flick. But all you guys out there in blog land ( as if there is a real land of blog ) once in a while I think you need to watch a movie where no one says "I'll be back" or "hay punk, make my day." So men, lets all be chicks once in a while and make your woman, girl or significant other's day and be a little chickish. So, to all the men out there who don't think this is so, well Haaay and good night, for tonight I go to sleep happy with the woman I love, happy. Good Night All.

I would like to start out by saying THANK YOU. That is, to all of you that helped US and U.S.A. be free. You all can bitch about things out there, like who is going to be the next president or the price of gas or the price of food or even say a ticket the police gave you. But you know what, you can complain about it and it's because of the men and woman who we celebrate today. A special thank you to my Dad who at age 17 was in Japan. For boys like him became great men fast.

 

Let's all remember how we have received all the freedoms we have and who to thank for it. It's not from just sitting on our butts complaining about everything. It's  because of all the Men and Women who did something about it. The MEN and WOMEN of the U.S. Military.    THANK YOU.

What a day

Went over to a friends home (Mark & Cindy) for our long awaited lobster dinner. Getting there finding they left, leaving a note on the door for us. I was happy not to have dinner with Mark. OKOK it was a joke he was there and a great time was HAD by all.  Then we went to see there land where they will be spending there lives. It is wonderful, guys here's to wishing you two the greatest luck in your endeavor. But guys I do believe the house is a little big for just the two of you.

Another day gone bye. Dawn worked at the hut today and had a costumer yell at her because the hut ran out of large pizza. Which brought up a conversation about people. Some people have no clue or think there s%#t don't stink. It brought me back to my first time on the floor at the depot. I was fixing a rack and a man wanted to know where to find wood glue. I turned to face him and was wearing my " I'm in training " badge. I told him all the glue is in the paint department. He said oh you are new. He then started talking to me like I was 2 years old.You know in that little rebo voice parents use to talk to babies. No woooood gluuuue you know for wood. Yes sir I said in the paint department. He took me over to the wood and started to tap on a piece of wood saying woooood you know woooood gluuuue. Pictures of me hitting him with wooooood and filling his a%$#@$# with woooooood gluuuuuue danced in my head, I said well I am new so lets go to the desk and I will ask someone.We did I asked and guess what the wood glue is IN THE PAINT DEPARTMENT. The man looked at the employee behind the desk and said to him Thank You so much you were so helpful. So as I told Dawn it takes all kind to make the world spin unfortunately the all fall at our door. So lets all slow the world down a little and be nice to the workers in the stores and restraints for that worker is not making a lot of money for one and does not order for the place and third that person might be ME. Now Saturday Sandy and I will be eating at Mark and Cindy's home and cant what for that Lobster mark promised me and PB&J for Sandy. I guess I went on long enough so good night to all. Have pleasant dreams and tip your waitress very well for if it is Dawn She Needs The Money.LOL LOL

he just doesn't get it

Hi all

Talk to Mark Krusen today and he still doesn't get it. He came in to the Depot Sunday to visit and I was busy helping costumers. If I told him 1 I told hem 100000 times I don't admit knowing him in public. Now it cost me $100 I paid the people to let me pretend help them so I did not have to talk to him. LOL just kidding buddy, it was unfortunate that it was a mad house Sunday. Cant what until Saturday I stopped eating for 3 Weeks now so I will be good and hungry. I love PB&J. Hope every thing goes alright with my baklava. Now for a saying I heard time. " My kids are great I would not triad them for a million dollars. But on a rainy day if you offer me 1 penny there all yours. " Mark & Cindy hope all goes well with you. And world LOOK OUT WORLD tomorrow I start another day. Good night Mister Moon.

HI EVERYONE

Another weekend over and like usual it went bye fast. Even when you are retired it flies. My mother once told me the older you get the faster time flies and you know something she was right. Even though I had to work it flew. I had a surprise to day at work my wife and 2 of my kids came to have lunch with me and it made my day. We went for some fine dining yup McDonald's. High class all the way. Well another day is gone and I will say good night to all out there in blog land and have Faith that the sun will come up in the AM and set in the PM . and have Faith that you are loved. A kids song

Sandy, Dawn and myself went to the elementary school today to see the 4th grade concert in which my son Jake was singing. It was a salute to gym and the Olympics. And if you know me you know I don't need to hear about gym and exercising and stuff like that. The kids did great and that's whats it is all about, the kids. Where are we without the kids? That's the question I ask. Anyone have an answer ? I do. See if your answer is the same as mine. The kids don't have to be yours. They can be a niece , a nephew, grandchild or just a Friends kids. They're all this world has to look forward to. The need to laugh, play, sing and act up a little. Just a little. For they are our future. They are the next teacher, police, nurse, or oh ya, our next union member. (that is for you mark) Lets all take a little time out of our day to pray for our kids . Pray so they can be kids for a little while more. The world will be a better place for it, trust me on this. I have 3 of the best kids and let me tell you all, no let me shout it from the tallest building, I LOVE THEM . Good day to all.

1 day in my world

Another day has come and gone. From inside my home I see the world as I see it. Warm and sunny and flowers throwing there sent all over so it smells like heaven. People saying hello as they walk past & cars beeping as they drive past. Ok, so that is my world. Some say that in my world there is no oxygen ether. But the car that drove by left me a present, ya that's right. Ok Ok, it was only a nickle from the can it tossed out it's window. When you wake up tomorrow, and you see someone, say hi and smile. If you see someone in their yard working while driving by, beep to say what a wonderful world we live in. Good Night little mouse, Good night moon, Good night to all my old friends and new friends I meet in my life and in my blog.

It's over

On March 30th I retired, or did I? 30+ years at 1 place & I am forced to retire only to be asked to stay on to train people to replace me. I worked until May 9 and trained no one . ????? Who knows how big business works. Now to enjoy retirement. To sit outside in the morning drinking my coffee and listen to the birds singing. To go fishing anytime to call someone or anyone to go out to lunch . Oh ya right... Now I'm working at Home Depot. Retirement is great!
